Cities are in great need for quantitative metrics to assess performance of urban neighborhoods and the level of service they provide to their residents. Such metrics are essential to support decision-making processes in the practice of city planning on one end; and for residents’ real-estate decisions about where to move or live on the other. And so, illuminating the spatial and social inequalities between neighborhoods through data-driven tools are the first step in advancing equitable real estate development.

This short talk will showcase a data visualization tools for understanding the spatial inequalities in accessibility to services and amenities in cities around the world. This talk will showcase the power of large urban data for policy whereas the previous version focused on viz tools.
